Canada’s Start-up Visa program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build a business in Canada that is innovative, can compete on a global scale, and will create jobs for Canadians. The program, which leads to permanent residency, links entrepreneurs with designated venture capital fund organizations, angel investors, or business incubators. These designated organizations must provide a Letter of Support confirming their commitment to the business.
This program allows up to five applicants for one business, each with a minimum of ten percent ownership in the business. Together with the designated organization, the applicants must control more than fifty percent of the voting rights.
